As we were wrapping up our interview session, we only had one more question to ask and GoldenTot(Tate) wanted to end it on a note in regards to how Yoshida feels about Shadowbringers.
Tate:
I guess short and sweet, what are you looking forward to the most for the community to experience in Shadowbringers?
Yoshida:
With Final Fantasy XIV, of course we are one of the titles in the Final Fantasy franchise and we are very proud of creating content in a game that is under that banner. With Shadowbringers, the main story really brings together a lot of the elements that Yoshida and team wanted to relay to our players in Final Fantasy XIV, a lot of elements that we wanted to deliver to our players and packed it all in. So we will be touching on the core part of the story of Final Fantasy XIV.
There’s probably going to be an immense amount of shock that you will experience through the story, some of it will be very impactful. With six years history of Final Fantasy XIV at this point, many different content that the players have been experiencing through Final Fantasy XIV will be connected to some of the elements in Shadowbringers and you’ll see the link between some of the story that is behind the content that you’ve played through. So we would really love for the community to enjoy the main scenario story. Take your time to immerse yourself into it and enjoy it. Personally speaking, I feel that between the narratives between A Realm Reborn, Heavensward, and Stormblood – Shadowbringers is probably the best in terms of quality of the story and I feel that it would be such a waste for anybody to skip over the story.
I know I can’t convince a lot of players, but I personally will be not skipping any cutscenes.
